David Bernstein

David Bernstein is an accomplished journalist and book author with extensive experience in editorial roles and investigative reporting. Since May 2017, Bernstein has served as a book author at Hachette Book Group. Previously, from January 2019 to January 2020, Bernstein was a Local Reporting Network Fellow at ProPublica, working on a significant investigative project in partnership with the Daily Herald. Bernstein's editorial career includes a decade as Features Editor and Senior Editor at Chicago magazine, where strategic content management and in-depth reporting were key responsibilities. Additionally, Bernstein has contributed to academia as an adjunct lecturer at Northwestern University and Columbia College Chicago, teaching magazine writing and editing. Prior roles include serving as the Assistant Director of Political Communications at Brady and as a Legislative Aide for U.S. Senator Richard J. Durbin. Bernstein holds a Master's degree in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's degree in History and Political Science from Indiana University Bloomington.
