Senior Fellow at Hack the Hood

Zakiya Harris is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in equity, organizational development, and youth engagement. Currently serving as a Senior Strategist at Edutainment For Equity, Zakiya emphasizes creativity and inclusivity in learning environments. As Cultural Architect at BlacSpace Cooperative, Zakiya drives the vision and strategy of community engagement initiatives. Zakiya also leads Sh8peshift Your Life, a program designed to empower women in their careers through innovative workshops and coaching. Co-founding Hack the Hood, Zakiya helps low-income youth of color enter the tech industry by providing hands-on training. Additionally, Zakiya contributed to the establishment of Impact Hub Oakland, fostering a collaborative space for social change initiatives. Earlier roles include leadership positions at Earthseed Consulting LLC, HIVE Bay Area, Green For All, Grind for the Green, and Global Exchange. Zakiya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Rutgers University.
