Ione Axelrod

Ione Axelrod is an experienced education staff member and software engineer with a robust background in programming and technology. Since May 2022, Ione has been teaching core Python fundamentals at Hackbright Academy, where responsibilities include lecturing, one-on-one student advising, debugging Flask web applications, grading assessments, and curriculum development. Previously, Ione worked at Civitech as a software engineer, maintaining voter data parsers, load testing APIs, and preparing production documentation. Ione's experience also encompasses a role as a Political Technology Specialist at DigiDems, where cybersecurity compliance and voter outreach tools were developed for a congressional campaign. Earlier experience includes significant contributions to Monster, enhancing their mobile backend with RESTful endpoints and internal tools. Ione holds an Associate's degree in Computer Programming from Las Positas College and completed education at Hackbright Academy.
