John F. Gibbs

John F. Gibbs, MD, MHCM, CPE, FACS serves as the Clinical Director of Oncology for Hackensack Meridian Health's Southern Region, overseeing four cancer centers since May 2020. In an academic capacity, John holds professorship roles in surgery at both St. Georges University School of Medicine and Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, contributing to curriculum design since the inaugural class in July 2018. John has also directed the Operating Room and chaired various surgical departments at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where notable achievements include initiating a new general surgical residency program and attaining trauma designations. Previous positions include Vice Chair and Chair of Surgery at multiple medical institutions and leading various roles in surgical oncology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. John's education includes an MD from the University of California, San Diego, and an MHCM from Harvard University, complemented by ongoing studies in Population Health Management and executive education at Wharton.
