Pete Thiel

Pete joined Haig Partners in 2020 as Managing Director. He brings with him extensive expertise in auto retail with a financial and transactional background. Prior to joining Haig Partners, Pete was the Vice President at AutoNation, Inc. the world’s largest automotive retailer and led all acquisitions and divestitures. He has been involved in the purchase or sale of 133 dealerships for $2billion, as well as the evaluation of more than 1,000 acquisition opportunities. Prior to AutoNation Pete held various positions in corporate finance for The Sports Authority, Inc. and Salomon Brothers Inc.

Pete is a CFA charter holder, has an MBA from the University of Tampa, and has a BBA in Finance from Stetson University. He lives in Fort Lauderdale, FL with his wife and 2 children.
