Ian Steiner

Structural Engineer at Halff

Ian Steiner has a diverse work experience, starting in 2013 as a Lifeguard at Midwest Pool Management. In 2015, they worked as a Head Lifeguard for the same company. In 2016, they worked as a Co-op at The Great Lakes Construction Co., assisting the Project Engineer on a major reconstruction project. The following year, in 2017, Ian worked as a Research and Testing Assistant at GRL Engineers, Inc., where they assisted in the development and testing of load-bearing capacity and integrity of deep foundations. In 2018, they were a Technician Intern at Garver, where they drafted and detailed in AutoCAD and Microstation, and calculated quantities for bridge projects. In 2019, they interned at Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc., developing models for detailed finite element models of bridges. Currently, Ian works as a Structural Engineer at Halff Associates since 2020.

Ian Steiner received their High School Diploma from Priory in 2015. Ian then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, graduating in 2019. Following their undergraduate studies, Ian continued their education at Case Western Reserve University and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Civil Engineering in 2020.

In terms of certifications, Ian became an Engineer In Training through the Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors in May 2019. Ian later obtained the Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors in April 2023.
