Mel Cowen

Mel Cowen, CPE, currently serves as the Director of Preconstruction Services at Featherstone, Inc. since March 2020. Cowen holds leadership positions within the American Society of Professional Estimators, having been the National President and National 2nd Vice President since July 2016. Cowen has also contributed as an Instructor of Estimating Principles at HalfMoon Education Inc. since January 2016. Previous experience includes roles as Estimating Manager at Structural Group, Senior Estimator at Leopardo Companies, and Vice President at Custom Contracting, LTD. Cowen began the professional journey as Chief Estimator at J. J. Henderson and Son. Educational background includes a degree from Kansas State University, obtained between 1973 and 1977.
