Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE)
Ashley Morton is an experienced educator and engineer with a diverse background in electrical engineering and project management. Currently serving as a Science (Physics) Teacher at Halifax Regional Centre for Education since August 2020, Ashley has been involved in designing electrical systems for marine projects as a Project Manager and Electrical Engineer at Allswater since December 2014. Previous roles include Lead Electrical Engineer at Chantier Davie Canada Inc. and Irving Shipbuilding, where significant contributions were made to innovative maritime projects, such as North America's first LNG-fuelled passenger ferries. With a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Mathematics and Science from Mount Saint Vincent University, Ashley combines a solid technical foundation with a passion for teaching and mentoring.

The Halifax Regional Centre for Education HRCE) was created on April 1, 2018. As an entity, the HRCE operates English public schools throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality. Serving close to 52,000 students in 134 schools, the HRCE is the largest school system in Atlantic Canada. The HRCE's vision is to provide a high quality education to every student every day.
