Michael J. Labarre

Michael J. Labarre is currently the Vice President of Product Development and Regulatory Affairs at Halozyme Therapeutics. Michael has over 25 years of experience in the biotechnology industry, holding various positions in product development, analytical and formulation sciences, and academia.

Labarre began their career as a Scientist at Hybritech in 1992, followed by a brief stint as Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Chemistry at San Diego Mesa College. In 1994, they joined Vical as a Scientist before moving to IDEC Pharmaceuticals in 1995, where they eventually became Director of Analytical and Formulation Sciences.

In 2003, Labarre left IDEC to join Biogen Idec as Director Analytical and Formulation Sciences. Three years later, they transitioned to Paramount BioSciences, serving as VP Product Development until 2008.

Labarre has been with Halozyme Therapeutics since 2006, first as Senior Director of Product Development before being promoted to their current role as Vice President. Under their leadership, the company has developed several groundbreaking products and earned numerous awards and accolades.

Michael J. Labarre has a Ph.D in Chemistry from the University of Arizona and a B.S in Chemistry from Long Island University, Southampton Campus.
