Rafael Consunji M.D., Mph

Rafael Consunji MD MPH holds extensive experience in trauma care and injury prevention. Currently serving as the AED of Clinical Services and Co-Director at the Hamad Trauma Center since August 2012, Rafael also directs the HMC Injury Prevention Program and acts as a Consultant within the Trauma Surgery Section. Previously, Rafael was a Clinical Associate Professor and Chairman of the Study Group on Injury Prevention & Control at the University of the Philippines until September 2016, and served as President of SAFE KIDS Philippines from 2003 to August 2012. Educational credentials include a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, a Master of Public Health in Injury Prevention & Control from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, a General Surgery Residency at Philippine General Hospital, and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of the Philippines. A Bachelor of Science in Zoology was completed at the University of the Philippines prior to medical training.
