Prof. Dr. Götz Welsch

Prof. Dr. Götz Welsch is an experienced medical professional specializing in orthopedic sports medicine. Since August 2014, Welsch has held the position of Professor für Orthopädische Sportmedizin at Universitätsklinikum Hamburg Eppendorf and serves as the Medical Director of UKE Athleticum. In parallel, Welsch has been the Lead Team Doctor for HSV Fußball AG since August 2014. Previously, Welsch served as the team doctor for SpVgg Greuther Fürth from January 2011 to August 2014 and worked in orthopedic and trauma surgery at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg from June 2003 to August 2014. Welsch also gained experience in musculoskeletal MRI and joint and cartilage treatment at the Medical University of Vienna from 2006 to 2008. Academic training includes an M.D. from FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg, supplemented by educational experiences at Harvard University and New York University.
