Ulla Moilanen

Ulla Moilanen serves as a Principal Research Scientist at HAMK Häme University of Applied Sciences since September 2015, leading the HAMK Bio research unit with a focus on various projects related to biogas, bioeconomy, and the utilization of bio-based raw materials. Previously, Ulla worked at the University of Helsinki as a Research Scientist in the Department of Food and Environmental Sciences and at Aalto University School of Science and Technology, where roles included research on bioprocess engineering and the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass to bioethanol. Ulla's educational background includes a Master of Science in Technology from Aalto University and a Vocational Teacher degree from Haaga-Helia School of Vocational Teacher Education. Additionally, Ulla has experience as a lecturer in process technology and as a research scientist in multiple projects aimed at extracting value from food industry by-products.
