Shayla Bailey

Shayla Bailey has a diverse range of work experience. Currently, they are working as a Public Relations Specialist at Hamilton Beach Brands Inc., where they handle various public relations tasks for multiple brands. Prior to this, Shayla founded and managed Pay What You Can RVA, an online shop that raises money and awareness for different community organizations in Richmond. Shayla also worked as a Social Media Strategist at Karnes Coffey Design and as a THP Intern at The Hodges Partnership, where they gained experience in media relations and press release writing. Additionally, Shayla worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Media Relations & Technical Writing course at the Richard T. Robertson School of Media and Culture. Shayla also served as the Student Marketing Manager at VCU Recreational Sports, overseeing a communications team. Earlier in their career, Shayla was a Social Media Intern at Design By E and worked as a Server at Tim's II at Fairview. Shayla also gained international experience as a Summer Intern at MBS Blu Charter Sorrento in Italy. Lastly, Shayla worked as a Staff Photographer for The Commonwealth Times, capturing various events and capturing the growth and changes at VCU and in the Richmond area.

Shayla Bailey earned their Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from Virginia Commonwealth University. Shayla attended the university from 2017 to 2020. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at King George High School, where they received an Advanced Diploma. The duration of their high school education was from 2013 to 2017.
