Dan Silverton

Dan Silverton is an experienced communication and engagement professional with a diverse background in various roles within local government and media. Currently serving as Communication and Engagement Manager at Hamilton City Council since July 2016, Dan has also held positions such as Acting Head of Communication and Engagement and Communication and Engagement Manager for Infrastructure. Prior to this, Dan managed partnerships and communications at Waikato Museum, focusing on enhancing community engagement and digital programs. Experience includes a role as Writer/Photographer for Saint Kentigern Trust Board and serving as Sports Editor for Times Newspapers, where skills in editorial writing, photography, and community relations were developed. Dan holds a Graduate Diploma in Communication from Auckland University of Technology, a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Media Studies from Victoria University of Wellington, and a Certificate in Public Relations and Communication Management from Open Polytechnic of New Zealand.
