Laura Gawley, MBA, CFRE, currently serves as the Director of Research Philanthropy at Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation since January 2025. Prior experience includes roles as Associate Director of Corporate Philanthropy at Ivey Business School from March 2022 to January 2025, and Senior Development Officer for Major and Planned Giving at DeGroote School of Business from September 2019 to February 2022. Earlier positions encompass Development & Stewardship Coordinator and Relationship Manager for Alumni Relations at Smith School of Business from March 2012 to January 2018, where efforts included engaging alumni through events and volunteer opportunities, as well as managing a $65M campaign with a fundraising outcome of $115. Laura’s educational background includes a Master of Business Administration from Ivey Business School and a Bachelor of Science (BScH) in Psychology from Queen's University.

We provide vital funding to enable the best possible patient care at Hamilton Health Sciences. As a registered charitable organization, we proudly support patients and families across south-central Ontario, and from outside the region, who receive specialized care at Hamilton Health Sciences including Hamilton General Hospital, Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, McMaster Children’s Hospital, and St. Peter’s Hospital. The associated programs at the Regional Rehabilitation Centre, McMaster University Medical Centre and Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre are also included. Hamilton Health Sciences is the only hospital system in Ontario providing specialty health care for the full spectrum of life’s journey, from pre-birth to end-of-life. It serves a region of more than 2.3 million residents and provides highly specialized care to patients from outside the region as a provincial referral centre. Hamilton Health Sciences is a leader in many specialized acute and chronic care programs for pediatric and adult patients across its sites. It is also a renowned academic-teaching hospital and an international leader in hospital-based research.
