Kim Varian is the Executive Director at Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Development and Communications for the organization from December 2016 to December 2019. In this role, they led the planning and management of development, marketing and education initiatives, including strategic partnerships and stakeholder relations, fund development, communications and promotional campaigns, and education programs in schools and the community. Before joining Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, Ms. Varian was a Partner at Capitis Consulting Inc., a management consulting firm servicing the not-for-profit sector. Kim provided executive-level business services including strategic planning, board governance, marketing, fund development, financial planning, and program assessments and re-engineering to clients such as the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, Art Gallery of Burlington, Hitherfield Private School, Ontario Soccer Association, Sport BC, and Hewlett Packard.

Kim Varian has a Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) from the University of Ottawa, a Fundementals of Fundraising certification from the Association of Fundraising Professionals, a Management Training and Development Certificate from the Schulich School of Business - York University, and a Post Graduate Diploma in International Business from Sheridan College.
