Yehuali Otite

Yehuali (Yohana) Otite serves as the Human Rights and Equity Advisor at the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board since September 2018. Prior experience includes roles as Executive Director and Program Manager for the DiverseCity onBoard Program at the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion, where responsibilities involved developing and promoting initiatives connecting underrepresented candidates to volunteer board positions. Otite has also contributed as a Communications and Marketing Manager at Audcomp and a Communication Coordinator at the Industry-Education Council of Hamilton, where project-specific communication strategies were implemented. Previous roles include Settlement Worker in Schools at the Settlement and Integration Services Org and Advocacy and Resource Mobilization Officer at the Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia, alongside teaching English at Lazarist Catholic School. Otite holds a Master of Arts in Literature from Addis Ababa University and a Bachelor of Education from Bahir Dar University, with further education at York University - Osgoode Hall Law School.
