Lindsey Key has an extensive background in special education teaching and learning. Lindsey started their career as a Mild Intellectual Disabilities Teacher at Monacan High School, where they worked with students in the Life Skills Program. Lindsey assessed students, created customized lesson plans, and was also involved in additional school activities such as coordinating prom and coaching field hockey. Lindsey then moved on to George C. Marshall High School as a Mild Intellectual Disabilities Teacher and Collaborative Teacher. Here they managed Individualized Education Plan caseloads, collaborated with various stakeholders, and served as a senior class co-sponsor. Following that, Lindsey worked at Zurich International School as a Learning Support Teacher, providing individualized instruction and in-class support to middle school students with special needs. Lindsey co-authored a Collaborative In-Class Support Guide for the middle and high school faculty. Lindsey then joined Hill Country Middle School as a Special Education Teacher, collaborating with general education teachers to differentiate programs and modify curriculum for students with special needs. Lindsey also took on additional responsibilities such as being a sponsor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and chess club. Lindsey Key obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Special Education from Longwood University in 2007. Lindsey then pursued a Master's Degree in Special Education from the same university, which they completed in 2008.
