Ahjanae Braxton

Ahjanae Braxton, LCSW, is a skilled therapist with extensive experience in mental health services. Currently serving as a Therapist I in a school-based setting and as an Emergency Services Counselor at the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board since April 2021, Ahjanae also works as an Outpatient Therapist at Teachable Moments Therapy Group. Previous roles include a Mental Health Intern at Norton Therapeutic Solutions and involvement with child and adolescent services at Chesterfield County Mental Health, where assessments and referrals for community services were conducted. During an internship at Specialized Youth Services of Virginia, Inc., Ahjanae organized psychoeducational groups and assisted in treatment plan development. Earlier experiences also include serving as a Therapeutic Day Treatment Afterschool Intern and Behavior Specialist at Dominion Youth Services. Ahjanae holds a Master of Social Work and two Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University.
