Christopher Wilson has extensive work experience in the field of process engineering and research. Christopher began their career at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2004, where they worked as a Ph.D. Candidate and Via Fellow. During this time, they focused on studying mechanisms of methanogenic inhibition in advanced anaerobic digestion and the effect of steady-state digestion temperature on performance, stability, and biosolids odor production associated with thermophilic anaerobic digestion. In 2010, Wilson joined Greeley and Hansen as a Wastewater and Biosolids Process Specialist, and later became an Associate. In 2015, they transitioned to HRSD, where they served as the Manager of Process Engineering and Research before advancing to the role of Chief of Process Engineering and Research in September 2017. Alongside their industry work, Wilson has also been an Adjunct Professor at both Virginia Tech and George Washington University, teaching civil and environmental engineering courses.
Christopher Wilson attended Struthers High School from 1996 to 2000. After completing their high school education, they enrolled at Bucknell University from 2000 to 2004. At Bucknell, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Following their undergraduate studies, they continued their education at Virginia Tech from 2004 to 2009. At Virginia Tech, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Civil Engineering.
