Laurie Franklin Nichols has a long and varied work experience. Laurie began their career in 2005 as the Director of Customer Service for US Baseball Academy. In 2007, they became the Assistant Coach for Women's Soccer at Campbell University. Laurie then returned to US Baseball Academy in 2012 as the Director of Customer Service and External Relations. In 2013, they became the Assistant Soccer Coach at South Oldham High School. In 2014, they moved up to the role of Vice President, Camp Administration and Public Relations and Senior Director, Camp and Public Relations for US Baseball Academy. In 2016, they became the Operations Manager and Director of Sales Operations for HANDLE™ Global. Laurie also became the Assistant Soccer Coach for Oldham County High School in 2016. In 2018, they became the Assistant Soccer Coach for Sacred Heart Academy. Her most recent role is Academy Coach for Louisville City FC, which they began in 2022.

Laurie Franklin Nichols completed their Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management from Malone University in 2005. Laurie then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Sport Administration from the University of Louisville, which they completed in 2007. Additionally, they hold a certification in CPR/AED/First Aid.
