Lahela Peterson is currently an LMHCA at Northwest Therapy Group since 2024. Prior experience includes serving as a Paraeducator at Olympia School District from August 2018 to August 2024, and as the Senior Program Coordinator for Sensory Friendly Playtime at Hands On Children's Museum from April 2017 to August 2024. Lahela's early career includes a position as a Curriculum Expert at the University of Maryland. Academic credentials include a Master's degree (ABD) in French Language and Literature and Critical Theory from the University of California, Irvine, along with a Master's degree in Clinical, Counseling and Applied Psychology, currently pursued at Saint Martin's University.

Located on Olympia’s downtown waterfront, the Hands On Children’s Museum is the leading play-based early learning institution in the state. It is also the largest and most visited youth museum in the Pacific Northwest. The museum’s mission is to stimulate curiosity, creativity, and learning through fun, interactive exhibits, and programs. The museum offers a robust free and reduced Access Program that serves over one-third of its visitors. Its programs and exhibits are designed to encourage interaction and inquiry, and inspire a lifelong love of learning.
