Thomas Lau

Thomas Lau has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Thomas is currently the Head of Operational Management, Corporate Services at Hang Seng Bank since August 2020. Prior to this, Thomas worked at HSBC for 15 years, holding various roles such as Regional Senior Data Manager, Business Management Specialist, Assistant IT Project Manager, and Senior IT Officer in the IT Infrastructure Delivery department. Before joining HSBC, Thomas worked as an IT Consultant at Vectorax Consulting Co. Ltd. from July 2003 to August 2005. Thomas also served as an IT Consultant at ProSearch Systems Limited / Quesco Systems Limited from March 2001 to November 2004. Thomas started their career in 1998 as a Programmer-Manager in Information Technology (Business Solutions) at CASH on-line Limited / Celestial Asia Securities Holdings (CASH) Group, where they worked until March 2001.

Thomas Lau completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Manitoba from 1994 to 1997. Thomas then pursued a Master of Science degree in Information System Management from HKUST Business School from 2001 to 2003. In addition to their formal education, Thomas has obtained certifications, including Certified Big Data Professional and Certified Big Data Scientist from Arcitura Education Inc., HKFE Commodities Trading, IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Expert, Lean Six Sigma - Green Belt, London Chamber of Commerce & Industries - Intermediate on Booking Keeping and Accounts, Microsot Certified System Engineer & Database Administrator, and SUN Certified Java Programmer.
