Maria Aholainen

Maria Aholainen is an experienced legal professional specializing in data protection and privacy, with a focus on data and telecommunications matters. Currently serving as Counsel at Hannes Snellman since August 2022, Maria provides advice on various data protection issues, including extensive projects and litigation. Prior to this role, Maria worked as a Senior Associate at Bird & Bird from September 2016 to August 2022, where responsibilities included advising on GDPR compliance, contract negotiations, and data breach response. Maria's career also includes positions as a Senior Officer/Lawyer at the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Finland, where Maria handled the renewal of the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR matters, along with previous legal trainee roles.
