Alma Quintero

Alma Quintero has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Alma began their career as an Office Administrative Coordinator at the Institute of International Education, where they developed a social media strategy and managed HR tasks. Alma then worked as an Administrative Coordinator in the Public Affairs Department at Pemex, where they organized international business events and helped establish the department. As an Education Outreach Officer at the Embassy of Canada, Alma researched education trends, facilitated collaboration agreements, and created official reports on Mexico's higher education market. Alma also worked as a Consultant for the BC Council for International Education, conducting market assessments and leading trade missions. Alma gained experience in sustainable development as a Sustainable Development Program Intern at the South Centre in Geneva, where they analyzed data and issued policy briefings. Alma furthered their experience in environmental issues as an Environment and Disaster Resilience Program Fellow at the Pan American Development Foundation, conducting research, drafting proposals, and developing reports. Alma currently holds a position at Hanover Research, starting as a Content Analyst and progressing to Associate Content Director and Content Director. Alma Quintero holds a Master of Public Policy degree in Energy and Environmental Policy from the UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS), which they completed from 2017 to 2019. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of International Affairs degree from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México from 2007 to 2012. In 2013 and 2014, they pursued a Specialization Certificate Program in Energy and Environmental Policy and Management from Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales, with a focus on Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Law. In 2018, they were awarded the Duke Geneva Program Fellowship from Duke University. In 2011, they also participated in an exchange program at Trent University, specializing in International/Global Studies.
