At Michigan State University, Bill pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging from 1977 to 1980. Bill continued their studies in Packaging Science at the same university and completed their degree in Business Administration in that field in 1981.

Afterwards, Bill went on to attend Central Michigan University, where they earned a Master of Science in Business Administration, with a focus on Marketing, from 1995 to 1997.
