Dr. Maximilian Rothkopf

Dr. Maximilian Rothkopf currently serves as a Member of the Executive Board and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Hapag-Lloyd AG, overseeing Network, Fleet, Trade Management, and Dangerous Goods since May 2019. Prior to this role, Dr. Rothkopf spent five years at McKinsey & Company as a Partner focused on the Travel, Transport & Logistics Practice, with earlier positions as Associate Partner, Engagement Manager, and Associate within the same practice. Dr. Rothkopf began the professional journey as a Management Assistant at the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce in 2002. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate from EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht, a Dipl. Kfm. from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, and additional studies at the University of California, Berkeley, and Lund University School of Economics and Management, alongside a certificate in Technology Management from the Center for Digital Technology and Management.
