Himmat Ahlawat

Himmat Ahlawat is an accomplished maritime and logistics professional with extensive experience in senior management roles. Currently serving as the Country Managing Director at Hapag-Lloyd AG since December 2021, Ahlawat previously held the position of General Manager at Wilhelmsen Group, overseeing operations in Kuwait from April 2016 to December 2021. Ahlawat also contributed as a Training Consultant for the United Nations in early 2016, focusing on training AMISOM commanders and UN/AU staff in Somalia. Prior experience includes serving as Managing Director at ETC Marine Ltd., Regional Director at Emirates Shipping Line, and Trade Manager at CSAV. Ahlawat began a naval career in the Indian Navy as a Lieutenant Commander from 1989 to 1998. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Affairs, Ahlawat continues to leverage extensive domain knowledge in the maritime sector.
