Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv Basketball Club is one of the most prestigious clubs in Israeli basketball. Since its establishment in 1935, the club has won the Israeli Championship five times and the State Cup four times.

Hapoel has reached the playoff finals 22 times and played in the State Cup final on 13 occasions. In the past three years, the team has consistently competed at the highest level of Israeli basketball, appearing once in the State Cup final and twice in the playoff finals.

Throughout its rich history, Hapoel has also made its mark on the European stage, reaching the Final Four of a European competition three times—twice advancing to the Korac Cup semifinals and once competing in the EuropLeague Final Four.
The team played its first game on January 26, 1935, securing a 6-2 victory over Hapoel Ramat Gan, and claimed its first derby win in 1950. Before the establishment of the National League, Hapoel won five championships in the "Hapoel" league.

In 1954, following the creation of the Israeli basketball league, Hapoel Tel Aviv defeated Hapoel Geva in its inaugural match. Despite a suspension in 1956, the team continued to perform at a high level, reaching multiple finals and earning second place for three consecutive seasons.
