Mary C. Curtis

Mary C. Curtis is an accomplished journalist and commentator with extensive experience in various media roles. Currently serving as a columnist and host of the "Equal Time" podcast for Roll Call since January 2016, Mary has also been a contributor and commentator for NPR since 2007. Additional roles include panelist for Renaissance Weekend since December 2018 and facilitator at The OpEd Project since September 2013, where Mary guides thought leaders in writing and presentation. As a member of the Journalism and Women's Symposium, the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), and the Maynard Institute, Mary has actively contributed to improving media representation and the role of women and people of color in journalism. Previous commentary work includes WCCB Charlotte from April 2009 to April 2021 and contributions to The Root.com from 2008 to 2020. Mary holds a journalism degree from Harvard University and a BA in Communications from Fordham University.
