PRODUCTION PLANNING ENGINEER
Summary
The primary duties of this position center on production planning and oversight - monitoring and managing daily production planning activities to ensure optimal performance and adherence to schedules. The Production Planning Engineer must develop, optimize, and maintain production schedules to meet or exceed customer delivery requirements by utilizing a combination of data analysis and cross-functional team collaboration. This position requires an exceptional level of attention to detail and planning skills.
Position Responsibilities
The Production Planning Engineer will handle a wide variety of situations and will be responsible for the following:
Develop and maintain production schedules for manufacturing processes, ensuring optimal utilization of resources, to meet or exceed customer demand.
Utilize ERP system to forecast inventory and production needs based on customer orders and generate schedules accordingly.
Monitor production schedule implementation to ensure timely delivery and assist in resolving any deviations or delays that may arise.
Evaluate production capacity and recommend appropriate allocation of resources to meet production goals.
Identify potential bottlenecks or inefficiencies within the production process.
Recommend process improvements and adjustments to increase throughput and reduce downtime.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles to optimize production flow.
Participate in root cause analysis for production delays or quality issues and lead efforts to develop and implement corrective actions.
Communicate with the manufacturing team to ensure that production schedules are aligned with capacity and resource availability.
Collaborate with quality control and maintenance teams to address any issues that may affect production efficiency.
Provide training and support to production teams on new planning processes, tools, or changes to production schedules.
Interface with the Director of Manufacturing and Management Team to establish all planning parameters for production.
Generate production reports and/or dashboards to present actionable information as needed.
Education and Experience: B.S. Degree in Systems/Industrial Engineering

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, and to attend meetings at various sites; strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
