Cristie Hopkins has over 20 years of work experience in media relations, public relations, communications, marketing, and fundraising. Cristie served as the Director of Media and Public Relations at the Harford County Sheriff's Office from 2014 to the present, where they managed all external communications, oversaw social media and website development, and coordinated media requests. Additionally, they acted as the primary spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office and played a crucial role in managing communications during critical incidents. Prior to their role at the Sheriff's Office, Cristie worked as the Development Director at SARC, Inc. from 1998 to 2010, where they oversaw communications, marketing, fundraising, community outreach, and volunteer services. Cristie also served as the Agency spokesperson, organized fundraising efforts, and provided education on domestic violence.
Cristie Hopkins earned a Certificate from Harford Leadership Academy in 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Marketing from the University of Maryland Global Campus from 2010 to 2012. Christie also attended Harford Community College from 1995 to 1997, where they focused on Mass Communication/Marketing.
