Aviva Mendelson

Aviva (Buechler) Mendelson is an experienced educator currently serving as Co-Principal at Harlem Link Charter School since August 2011, where previous roles included Assistant Principal, Family Engagement Coordinator, and Classroom Teacher. Aviva gained additional experience as a Summer Policy Fellow at Leadership for Educational Equity in 2013 and as a NYC Corps Member with Teach For America from 2011 to 2013, which included participation in the Good to Transformational Fellowship. Early career experiences include internships with B'nai B'rith International and Do Something. Aviva holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees in History from Columbia University and Barnard College, as well as a Master of Education in Leadership for Educational Change from Bank Street College of Education and a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education.
