Uma Mukkara

Uma Mukkara has a strong background in technology and leadership roles. Uma is currently serving as the Head of Chaos Engineering at Harness since March 2022. Prior to that, they co-founded ChaosNative in February 2021 and served as the Co-Founder & CEO until March 2022, where they provided products and services to improve reliability in cloud-native environments. Before that, they were the Co-founder and COO at MayaData from December 2017 to February 2021. Uma also co-founded CloudByte, where they held various roles including Co-Founder and COO from June 2017 to December 2017, Co-founder & CEO from June 2016 to June 2017, Co-founder & VP Engineering from September 2012 to June 2016, and Co-founder & CTO from July 2011 to August 2012. Additionally, they worked at Novell Inc as an Architect - Identity and Security Software from July 2001 to June 2011, and at Infosys Technologies Ltd as a Software Engineer from 1998 to 2001.

Uma Mukkara completed their Master of Science degree in Telecommunications and Software Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology from 2000 to 2001. Prior to that, from 1994 to 1998, they pursued a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from NBKRIST, S.V.University in Andhra Pradesh, India. In addition to their formal education, Uma obtained a certification as a Chaos Engineering Practitioner from Harness University in May 2022.
