Ruth Williams

Ruth Williams, M.S., Ed.D, currently serves as the Provost at Harper College since June 2023, where responsibilities include leading efforts to create inclusive learning environments and facilitating academic programming aimed at enhancing social and economic mobility. Prior to this role, Ruth held the position of Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of Curriculum and Instruction at Oakton College from July 2019 to June 2023, focusing on removing barriers to student access and aligning with accreditation standards. Ruth's extensive experience at Oakton Community College includes roles as Dean of Curriculum and Instruction, Dean of Science and Health Careers, Chair of the Biology Department, and Professor of Biology, as well as teaching at Moraine Park Technical College and working as a Senior Laboratory Technician at Northwestern Medical School. Ruth holds a Doctor of Education in Community College Leadership from Ferris State University, a Master of Science in Veterinary Physiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
