Yolonda Barnes

Yolonda Barnes, Ed.D, currently serves as Dean at Harper College since July 2023, following a tenure as Associate Dean of Sustainability, Business & Career Technology at Elgin Community College from July 2019 to July 2023. Prior to this, Yolonda was the Lead Contact Advisor for the Beta Sigma Pi Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at the College of Western Idaho and held various academic roles there, including Assistant Professor and Program Chair for the Administrative Support program. Yolonda's earlier experience includes significant roles at Ferris State University, where responsibilities encompassed annual giving program development and teaching career exploration courses. Additionally, Yolonda worked as an Administrative Assistant at Central Michigan University, contributing to both Human Resources and the College of Education. Educational achievements include a Doctorate in Community College Leadership and a Master's in Career and Technical Education from Ferris State University, along with a Bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University and an Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies.
