Maria Salazar

Maria Salazar has extensive experience in communications and media, currently serving as the Director of Digital Communications at Harris County Precinct 2 since October 2021, after holding multiple roles including Assistant Director of Communications and Communications Manager. Prior to this, Maria worked as a Reporter for Fox Television Stations and WFMZ-TV, as well as a Bilingual Reporter for Telemundo Atlanta. Additional experience includes positions at Caminar Latino, Inc. as a Board Member and Marketing Committee Chair, Marketing Specialist at Azteca Atlanta, and Program Coordinator for Civic Engagement at the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials. Maria's early career involved internships at the American Cancer Society, the Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights, and the American Red Cross. Maria earned a Master of Science in Social Foundations of Education and a B.S. in Public Policy with a concentration in Non-profit leadership from Georgia State University.
