Richard Spittel, DMA, is an accomplished credentialing specialist with extensive experience in healthcare and music education. Currently serving at Johns Hopkins HealthCare since January 2011, Richard has also held positions as an adjunct instructor for bassoon at the University of Maryland Baltimore County since September 2004 and as a contrabassoon player with the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra since May 1984. Previous roles include credentialing specialist at Magellan Health Services, bassoonist with WindHarp, collections specialist at American Home Mortgage, orchestra director and general music teacher at Arbutus Middle School, and various instrumental positions with the U.S. Army Field Band. Richard earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in Bassoon Performance from the University of Maryland, a Master of Music from Peabody Conservatory of Music, and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Towson University.
