Darren Tishler, MD, serves as the Chief of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery at Hartford HealthCare and is also the Chief of the Division of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery at Hartford Hospital. In addition, Darren holds the position of Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and serves as the President of the Connecticut State Chapter of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. With a background in general and laparoscopic surgery, Darren was previously a physician at Connecticut Surgical Group, where responsibilities included directing bariatric surgery. Educational qualifications include a Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, an MD from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University, and a BA in Neurobiology from Cornell University.
