Geoffrey MacDonald

Geoffrey Macdonald is a distinguished expert in South Asian politics, currently serving as a nonresident Associate at Harvard University's Asia Center and a Visiting Expert with the South Asia Program at the United States Institute of Peace. Since 2016, Macdonald has held multiple roles at the International Republican Institute, including Senior Advisor for the Asia-Pacific Division and Country Director for Bangladesh, focusing on democracy assistance and regional strategy. In addition, Macdonald provides political analysis as a Research Consultant for Freedom House and has taught courses on US foreign policy at the University of Notre Dame.
