Niko Grupen

Niko Grupen currently serves as the Head of Applied Research and a Research Scientist at Harvey, focusing on AI research since April 2023. Prior to this role, Niko worked at Google within the Brain team from June 2022 to April 2023, also specializing in AI research. Niko's experience includes a position as a Machine Learning Engineer at Apple from October 2016 to September 2018, where responsibilities included developing conversational intelligence, and a Software Engineer Intern role at Apple in the summer of 2015, concentrating on emerging technologies. Notably, Niko designed and developed the first prototype of Auto-Unlock for macOS, iOS, and watchOS. Niko holds a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence from Cornell University, a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with minors in Mathematics and Economics from Villanova University, and a high school diploma from Deerfield Academy.
