David Overton

David Overton has a strong background in software engineering and development, with a focus on quality assurance and management. David began their career in 2001 as a Research Fellow at Monash University before moving on to roles at ARM and Whereonearth as a Software Engineer and Software Quality Assurance Engineer, respectively. In 2005, they joined Yahoo! as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer/Manager. David then transitioned to Cortex IT Labs in 2008, where they served as a Lead Developer for eight years. In 2016, they joined SEEK as a Senior Developer and worked there until 2020. Currently, they are working at Hasura, where they started as a Senior Software Engineer before being promoted to the position of Staff Software Engineer in 2023.

David Overton obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree in Software Engineering from the University of Melbourne, where they studied from 1994 to 1997. David further pursued their academic journey at the same institution, completing a PhD in Computer Science from 1998 to 2003.
