Oscar Romero

Oscar Romero has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. In 2018, they worked as a Planning Engineer at Mitsubishi Electric de Colombia, where they developed spreadsheets to calculate operating costs and budgets, as well as improved the supply chain process. Oscar then joined Mercer as a Data & Information Consultant, generating reports and dashboards for decision-making and automating data extraction processes. From 2020 to 2021, Oscar worked at UPS as an Operations Coordinator, focusing on database administration, supply chain optimization, and data analysis. In 2021, they became a Product Manager Automation & Analytics at Sodimac Colombia, leading the development and deployment of digital products and data monetization models. Most recently, Oscar worked as a Senior Data Engineer at Publicis Groupe, where they consumed various APIs, designed architecture in AWS, and automated ETLs to provide reliable data for analysis. Oscar is currently working as a Senior Data Engineer at HatchWorks.

Oscar Romero's education history begins in 2021 when they enrolled in the Universidad Nacional de Colombia to pursue a degree in Machine Learning and Data Science. This program lasted until 2022. Prior to that, from 2012 to 2018, Oscar attended the Universidad de América, where they earned an Engineer's degree in Industrial Engineering. In 2016, they briefly attended the Langports English Language College to obtain the Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) certification.

In addition to their formal education, Oscar has obtained several certifications. In 2022, they graduated with honors from the DS4A / Colombia 6.0 program offered by Correlation One. Oscar also completed the Python Professional Course at Platzi in March 2022. In 2021, Oscar obtained a Big Data certification from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and a Software Development certification from the Universidad Industrial de Santander. In March 2021, they achieved a 7.0 IELTS score, equivalent to a C1 level, through the British Council.
