Carl Johns

Carl Johns has a diverse work experience in the art industry. Carl began their career as a Communications Specialist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they worked from 1997 to 2005. Following that, they worked as an Art Handler at Mojo Fine Art Services from 2005 to 2007, and then as a Head Preparator and Registrar at The Project from 2007 to 2008. Carl then became an Artist Assistant at Julie Mehretu Studio from 2008 to 2009. Carl then ventured into self-employment, providing Art Services and Project Management from 2009 to 2014. In 2012, they worked as a Gallery Manager at Galerie Christian Hosp for a year. Carl joined Pace Gallery in 2014, working in Art Services for a year. Currently, Carl is the Director of Operations at Hauser & Wirth, a position they have held since July 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Head Technician at Hauser & Wirth from 2016 to 2021.

From 1992 to 1996, Carl Johns attended Indiana University Bloomington, where they pursued their Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature/Letters.
