Jamia Green

State Administrator, Sensory Impaired Programs & Section 504 at Hawaii State Department of Education

Jamia Green, EdS, currently serves as the State Administrator for Sensory Impaired Programs and Section 504 at the Hawaii State Department of Education since June 2022. Prior to this role, Jamia served as School Principal at the School for the Deaf and the Blind from June 2021 to June 2022 and as Interim Principal at the Louisiana School for the Deaf during a tenure that included multiple interim leadership positions and assistant principal roles from March 2018 to June 2021. Earlier experience includes serving as a STEM/Technology Teacher Lead in the DeKalb County School District (July 2014 - February 2018) and a Teacher of the Deaf at both the Atlanta Area School for Deaf and Atlanta Public Schools. Jamia holds an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Valdosta State University, a Master of Education in Deaf Education from Georgia State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Deaf Education/Elementary Education from Flagler College.
