Substitute Cello at Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra

Garrick Woods is an accomplished cellist and educator currently serving as an Associate Professor at Cal Poly Humboldt since May 2022. Previously, Garrick held the position of Assistant Professor at Humboldt State University from August 2016 to May 2022, where responsibilities included instructing cello and bass students and directing the Humboldt Symphony. Garrick has experience as a substitute cellist for the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra since November 2015 and the Utah Symphony | Utah Opera from 2014 to July 2016. Additional teaching roles as an adjunct instructor at Brigham Young University and Southern Utah University contributed to extensive instructional experience, including mentoring various students in cello performance. Garrick's formal education encompasses a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Utah, as well as Master and Bachelor degrees in Cello Performance from the University of Arizona.
