Jason Staker

Jason Staker is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in public relations and media management. Currently serving as the Public Relations Coordinator at Hawkeye Community College since October 2014, Jason coordinates marketing and communication strategies for college admissions and retention, and manages the award-winning magazine "Connect." Prior roles include Director of Communications and Webmaster at Marshalltown Community School District, and Editor at The Traer Star-Clipper and The Dysart Reporter. Jason holds a Graduate Certificate in Digital Audience Strategy from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and a Master of Arts in Communications Studies from the University of Northern Iowa, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism & Mass Communication and English from Simpson College.
