Valerie Peterson

Valerie Peterson is an experienced workforce development professional with a diverse background in academic advising and volunteer management. Currently at Hawkeye Community College since June 2015, Valerie has held multiple roles, including Workforce Development Coordinator, where responsibilities include instructing individuals in career development, providing counseling, evaluating abilities, assessing training needs, and managing assistance requests. Prior experience includes serving as an Academic Advisor at Kaplan University Cedar Falls, mentoring staff and developing student success plans, and managing volunteer programs for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa & Western Illinois and the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. Valerie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Leisure, Youth and Human Services from the University of Northern Iowa, a Master of Business Administration from Kaplan University, and an Associate of Arts in General Studies from Hawkeye Community College.
