Lin Sun

Lin Sun is an experienced specialist in forensic root cause analysis and expert witness services, currently serving as an Associate at Hawkins & Associates since September 2017. Prior to this role, Lin worked at GE Power as a Lead Engineer in Materials Science and Engineering, leading R&D projects and conducting forensic investigations. Lin also held positions at Alstom Power, the University of Cambridge as a Research Associate focused on novel materials for gas turbines, and at the Advanced Forming Research Centre, directing projects for aerospace and defense sectors. Lin's early career included consultancy R&D work at The University of Sheffield. Lin holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from The University of Sheffield and a PGCert in Design of Rotating Machines from Cranfield University.
