Roger Hawkins

Founding Partner at Hawkins Brown Architects

Roger founded Hawkins\Brown with Russell Brown in 1988. In 2017 he was appointed to provide guidance to the Greater London Authority as a Mayor’s Design Advocate.

He is actively involved in projects across all studios at Hawkins\Brown, promoting cross-pollination of sector intelligence through key projects such as Here East, the Beecroft Building at Oxford University and Crossrail. Alongside studio practice, Roger regularly lectures at architectural schools and conferences as well as write for the architectural press. He is currently a Practice Professor at the University of Sheffield.

Roger is a people person: his ability to understand the client’s perspective and step into the mindset of the end user informs how Hawkins\Brown practice architecture. A strategic thinker, he sees opportunities where it’s least expected, and uses this to raise the aspirations of those around him.
